Ken's chocolate salami

When I first heard about Ken’s dream and his salami I really thought it was going to be one of the greatest Laruku goods ever, among the lines of L’Arcan and L’Arcream and other “what-the-actual-fuck” stuff.

We all agree that Kitamura is the dirty-minded king of innuendo in this band. He’s always eager to make dirty jokes and 18-rated mcs and grope other members’ marshmallows. He’s definitely the king.

WRONG.

Sorry, my dear, but having a “oh-so-nasty” merchandise item in the shape of a… *ehem*… is not an original idea, and you know that!

After all, which member has been asking the fans to eat his banana for years? It’s easy to forget the implied dirtiness when he says so with his angelic smile, but remember who’s the real hentai in this band. Don’t let him fool you!

Ok, now to the recipe!

Sweet salami? I know you have seen this before! I’m not claiming the autorship of this since it’s a really well-known recipe in many countries (as far as I know, it’s typical in Italy and I’ve seen it in Portugal too) But for those who haven’t tried it before, you definitely should. This is so ridiculously easy to make that you guys don’t have an excuse anymore.

KEN’S CHOCOLATE SALAMI

Ingredients
(for 2 salamis, divide the ingredients if you want to make just 1 salami):

- 120 grs. (4 ounces) chocolate (I used white chocolate but you can use dark or semisweet)
- 300 grs. (1 ½ cups) cookies
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 100 grs. (1/2 cups) white sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 200 grs. (7/8 cups) butter
- 80 grs. (1/2 cups) chopped walnuts (you can use any kind of nuts)
- 1 tablespoon liquor (I used Bailey’s)

In a bowl, crumble the cookies to a texture you like. You don’t need to crumble them finely, it’s ok if there are bigger chunks. Chop the walnuts and add the to the cookies.

Chop the chocolate and put it in a heatproof bowl, together with the butter (cut in cubes) and heat it in the microwave about 30 seconds to 1 minute, until both are melted.

Put the chocolate and butter mix in a larger bowl, add the cocoa powder, liquor, sugar and egg yolk, and beat well. You will get a soft and creamy batter.

Add the cookie and the walnuts, little by little, stirring to combine, until you are satisfied with the proportion of cookie and chocolate. The density of the mix depends of the type of cookies you are using. I used 350gr. of hard butter cookies but you might need less.

Place the cookie and chocolate dough on a sheet of aluminium paper or wax paper and wrap it tight, trying to shape it as a salami. Refrigerate for a least 4 hours (I left it overnigh), but don’t serve it cold, it kills the flavor, let it on the kitchen counter for 15 minutes before eating it.

Since I didn’t really put too much effort in this recipe -it was kind of created already XD- it reallly needed a little bit of “Ken feeling”, so here is the label of the salami! Thanks to my lovely friend Nika, she was the one who went to Osaka, bought the real salami and took the picture, not me. WHY NOT ME?? TT___TT

I wrapped the chocolate salami with plastic wrap and I attached the label. Here it is, a more realistic and sweeter version of the bizarre Kitamura’s salami XD May your dreams be as bizarre and his!
